Tampa Bay Lightning’s Matt Smaby Aligns with Miken Hockey

Miken Sports proudly announces that they are teaming up with NHL Defenseman Matt Smaby of the Tampa Bay Lightning. The 6-foot-5, 240 pound Smaby begins his fourth NHL season, all with Tampa Bay.  Smaby became the first U.S. high school player drafted by the Lightning when they took him in the second round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, and captained the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux team that reached the NCAA Frozen Four in consecutive seasons.

“We are thrilled to align with a player of Matt Smaby’s caliber.” stated Jim Hoscheit, Miken Sports General Manager. “We have worked closely with high level players like Matt to ensure that our MV-3™ sticks outperform the competition.” “Matt is a big, mobile, hard-hitting defenseman who can put product to the test.  We have proven to him that we can engineer exactly what he needs to elevate his game.” said Hoscheit. Miken is aggressively entering the hockey category with the introduction of the high-performance 100% aerospace carbon fiber MV-3™ and MV-3™ Pro sticks.  Miken’s engineering expertise and domestic manufacturing is proving to be a significant advantage over the current category leaders.

“I’m excited to partner with Miken and get on NHL ice with the new MV-3™.  I’ve been focusing on stick handling, and this stick has given me the puck boost and control I’m looking for.” said Smaby.”  “I’ve seen the benefit of having a team of engineers in Minnesota that can make every adjustment I need within days, and deliver the sticks to my door.”  Smaby will return to training camp with the MV-3™ in preparation for the season.  The MV-3™ and MV-3™ Pro models are available at premier hockey dealers nationwide.
