NOTES: The top-10 finalists for the 2012 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, given annually to the top player in NCAA Division I women's ice hockey, were announced on March 3. On Saturday (March 10), eight top-10 teams will face off in the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament ... The University of Wisconsin earned the No. 1 ranking for the eighth straight week ... The Western Collegiate Hockey Association has four ranked teams, while the Hockey East Association has three ranked teams and ECAC Hockey has two ranked teams. Mercyhurst is the only College Hockey America team ranked ... A total of 12 teams received votes.

The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the four NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
