Did You Know?
Maddie has another nickname, given to her after her performance at the PyeongChang Olympics. After the gold-medal game someone went into her Wikipedia page and dubbed her "Secretary of Defense." This prompted U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis to send her a note, "one secretary of defense to another."
She Said It
"You get what you put into it. The little things you do behind the scenes matters and will lead to your development and your success. ... But the most important thing would be to have fun and make the most out of every experience you're given."
